The student of the IIT who had never attempted suicide then started embarking on a new life by embracing Krishna's devotion and spiritual path. He founded the founder of ISKCON, based in Bangalore, on the basis of Akshaya Patra. Akshaypatra is a movement through which free food is provided to nearly 17 lakh school students in 6500 schools in 7 states of the country.
ABOUT THE MADHU DASA:-
The person who initiated the initiative to feed millions of poor children, it is Mr. Madhu Pandit Das. Panditji's life, born in Nagercoil, lives in Bangalore. He got a B. Tech in Civil Engineering from IIT Mumbai in 1980. Done Then inspired by the books of Srila Prabhupada, they started practicing Krishna consciousness. In the year 1983, he took charge of the ISKCON in Bangalore and also took over the responsibility of the post of Chairman of the Trivandrum temple.
One day while peeping through the windows of his house in Kolkata in Mayapur, he found a heart-breaking scene of a terrible pull in children and dogs for a piece of food. Moving away from this incident, he decided in his mind that he would start a campaign which would provide free food to all hungry people from the ISKCON temple within a distance of 10 miles. His little attempt made a great history today. And in this way, the cycle of getting food from the ISKCON temple started.
- As per the instructions of Srila Prabhupada, there is no hunger in the range of 15 to 20 km from the ISKCON temple. Inspired by this, the Akshaya Vata Foundation was established.
And this process continued continuously. The children will come to the temple before the time of their meal. Then Panditji started to feel that the children do not go to school either, leaving the school in the middle of the school to eat food. In March 2000, two good-minded Manas came to meet Pandit Ji. One of them, Mohandas Pai, who is a CFO of Infosys. Were. Mohandas was advised to take food to children by taking him to the nearby school. Following his advice, Pandit went to school and started feeding the children.
Sometimes the purpose of the person is to be selfless, but sometimes the name and the wish of the person comes in the mind. When this desire also disappears from the mind, then God chooses it as a tool of some great work.
Pandit Ji understood the importance of his work when principals of other schools wrote that ISKCON gave food to children in their schools. Children from schools separated from ISKCON had left their school and started migrating to the Nutrition Schools. Appetite was undoubtedly a non-avoidable issue.
With the financial help of Shri Narayana Murthy, Sudha Murthy and Pandit Ji in the year 2000, Akshayapatra Institute officially started. The scheme of the country's first centralized and mechanized kitchen was the brainchild of Madhu Ji. The cost of making food in the Akshaya Yatra and going to school was only 5.50 rupees. Initially, the entire expenditure was raised by the institution, but government help was also started, when the Supreme Court mandated mid-day meal in government and non-government schools on November 28, 2001. With the introduction of a gas stove and bronze pottery, today, with the help of Akshaya Vata 18 centralized modern kitchen kitchens, providing free food to nearly 17 lakh schoolchildren in 6500 schools in 7 states of the country.
Arranging for one day meal for children, even if there is no great purpose in listening, its long-term shape is really vast. This institution is working on two important challenges - hunger and education in the country. By providing unlimited nutritious food, they are also focusing on the children's development as well as their overall development.
Shri Madhu Pandit has not only changed the lives of the children but also raised the image of the temples. Think of the existence of any large temple without any social concern. If more and more temples are involved in this campaign, then how much God will be in heaven too, and how this world will.
